But the good news is that today I went for a very long run, the longest I've done since I've been here and I can't even tell you how good it felt! I just got back and I did 5.06 miles in 58 minutes! That is defiantly a record for me. I thought it was going to feel really bad because I haven't been running consistently for the last 2 weeks. I headed out and wanted to check out this trail I've seen but hadn't explored yet. So I started out and I just felt so good I hit a really good stride and a fast stride for me. When I turned onto the trail I was just in awe, it's gorgeous! It runs right next to the Eagle River and goes all the way into Edwards. I was feeling so good that when the trail came up next to the road I thought, "Wow it'd be great to get to that stop light down there." That was 20 minutes into the run and I really didn't think I'd have the stamina to get down there. I kept going and then before I knew it I had hit the stop light! I was so excited! I then turned around and headed back and that's when the snow started falling. Most people don't like to run outside in the snow but I love it. There is something so peaceful and liberating in running in a snow shower.
I went to a church service last night with some friends and we were singing these songs about the freedom you find in Jesus and liberation from sin. I just kept thinking about how being in the snow fall makes me feel alive and free. I think that it's a gift from God to be here right now.
How are my ladies doing? I think the excitement is wearing off and we're getting slack with our postings (I know I am! but I'm renewing my excitement!)
